Job Summary:
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Lien Negotiations Specialist to join our legal or claims team. This role is responsible for managing, negotiating, and resolving medical liens associated with personal injury or other liability cases. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of healthcare liens, subrogation rights, and legal compliance, with excellent communication and negotiation skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and verify all medical liens, including Medicare, Medi-Cal, and private insurance subrogation claims.
- Maintain a detailed log of all liens, including status updates, correspondence, and negotiation history.
- Negotiate lien reductions directly with lienholders, collection agencies, or subrogation departments to achieve favorable outcomes for clients or the organization.
- Calculate and confirm final lien payoff balances in compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Draft and send legal correspondence, including settlement offers, lien dispute letters, and final payment communications.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation of lien activity in the Case Management System (CMS).
- Collaborate with attorneys, claims adjusters, and finance teams to ensure lien resolutions are aligned with case settlements.
- Stay updated on legal and regulatory changes related to medical liens, subrogation laws, and healthcare compliance.
